The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a great option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it fills up.
Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we tested, the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and may have issues traversing transitions across surfaces like from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they aren't clogged by dirt. The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin that removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom."
